Scooter Wave

There were about thousands scooter “Vespa” gathered on Pangandaran West Beach, in Southern Seashore of West Java area in Indonesia, for attending the ninth anniversary of Pangandaran Scooters Association (Pasca) and the eighth anniversary of Pangandaran Lautan Scooter (Palas) on 11^th and 12^th July 2010. Fortunately the date was a long week end, so there were many scooter riders and difference scooter groups came.

There is usually unique scenery; view and impression come to fill our opinion from such scooter “Vespa” events; it is a very democratic scooters party because there will always come so difference type, kind, mode and year of product to this event; the people (the scooter riders) also come from very difference age, experience and educational back grounds. I think the most importance idea is that all scooter riders are usually non partisan.

When attending any scooter events, you should ready to sleep any where, drink any water, and eat any food. It means that we should ready and stand by to face problem on the road and spot; it is a logical reason for most of scooter riders bring with them a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, rain coat, waistcoat and jacket. A scooter rider who’s a member of a group should wear a jeans vest with embroidery of club’s name on its back.

We can see a scooter rider has fastened some pins on his/her chest, it means that he/she has attended some scooter events; and yes a pin is like a wing in army tradition. Most of scooters full of stickers on their bodies and those stickers also represented event they have attended.

Scooter event is always like a free market where you can find any second hand scooter parts, so many stickers, T-shirt of scooters, shoes for scooter rider, leather jackets and trousers, etc. even some scooters for sale in whisper.

Scooter event usually become a great spot for you to watch scooter from sixties products until nineties generations; there are also some scooter with a side car (side van) in difference style and mode. Most of side cars are hand made but only a few looks comfortable to ride. Scooter modification always an interested vehicle to proud about and some wonderful air brush painted on a minimalist style.

When the whole attendants in one event go on a tour parade, there will be the sound of thunder trembling along the way because hundreds or thousands of scooters running on the same road.

Of course you should bring a lot of money with you when you decided to attend a scooter event. Instead of food and beverage, and accommodation, you would need money for health and security.

I do never depend on other people when I ride away, I should prepare everything in proper and money is the most importance aspect to keep.

I was a member of a big scooter club in this province, but this is an exclusive and snobbish group I regretted to join. Most of member was come from a rich family or a high class officer and they don’t feel pity spending money alone. The leader of this elitist group was a conceited guy who dares to chat on short message service with my lovely wife, while at the same time he didn’t respond to my message.

To me, to be or not to be a member of a scooter club just the same. All depend on me. And so, I enjoy being a free lance and independence scooter rider.

Face book becomes another special space for scooter riders to gather friends in the same hobby or interest; thousands of scooter riders can be your friends if you like to ask for. There are of course thousands foreign scooter riders exist on face book, and for me, the most importance to get foreign scooters is that you should speak and write English. Your view of life will be spread up when you get friend from the whole world, you won’t be a narrow minded at all.

To be a free lance or independence scooter rider will not be a problem since you have got a lot of foreign friend from abroad by face bookers.
